Instead of purchasing the rather expensive (retail $99.99) Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless network adapter, you can make your own. Using the La Fonera and DD-WRT, you can turn the La Fonera into a wireless adapter for your Xbox 360. To add to convenience, the Xbox 360 has a USB port on the back (near the ethernet port) which you can use to supply power to the Fonera via a USB power cable (see guide here ).
The firmware used in this guide is DD-WRT v24 Final. The steps in this guide are assuming that DD-WRT is at stock settings after a fresh installation.
If you do not have DD-WRT installed on your Fonera, see this guide on how to do so.
NOTE: It is highly recommended that you use a wired connection to access the Fonera. Using a wireless connection could cause some flaky results, especially when changing the wireless settings.

1.
Login to the Fonera. The default address is 192.168.1.1 After logging in, you should see the main stats page (seen below).
2.
Access the "Setup" tab followed by the "Basic Setup". Here is what we will need to do:
- Make sure the WAN "Connection Type" is set to "Disabled"
- Change the "Router IP" address settings to match your subnet. You may want to change the default IP address of 192.168.1.1 since most primary home routers use that same address.
- Change the "DHCP Type" to "DHCP Forwarder".
- Click on "Save" at the bottom of the page to save your settings.

3.
Go to the "Wireless" tab and "Basic Settings". In this section you need to:
- Change "Wireless Mode" to "Client Bridge"
- Change the "Wireless Network Name (SSID)" to your wireless SSID. "FNS Wireless" is being used as an example in this demonstration.
- Remember to save your settings

4.
Go to the "Wireless Security" sub tab which is under the "Wireless" tab. Do the following:
- Change the "Security Mode" to match the mode you have on your wireless network, then go ahead and enter in the key.
- Click on "Save" to save the settings.
- Finally, click on "Apply Settings" to apply the saved settings.

5.
Wait a few minutes for the Fonera to reconfigure itself. If it was successful in connecting to your wireless network, you will see it in the stats page.
You can now connect your Fonera to your Xbox 360 or other device needing internet access.

Additional Notes:
If you need to access the Fonera after you have set up Client-Bridge mode, do this:
- Connect directly into the Fonera via ethernet cable
- Manually configure your IP address to be in the same subnet as the Fonera. These settings on the Fonera were configured in step 1 of this guide. E.g. if the Fonera's IP is 192.168.1.1, make your IP address something like 192.168.1.100.
- Make sure your subnet mask is the same as the Fonera's. It is usually 255.255.255.0 in most cases.
- After you have dialed in the settings, check connectivity by trying to browse to 192.168.1.1 (the Fonera).
